• Ndlovu in Sundowns u-turn, Pirates now front-runners

    Siphesihle Ndlovu

Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed that Siphesihle Ndlovu does not want to join Mamelodi Sundowns despite the two clubs agreeing a deal in principle last year, leaving the door open to a move to Orlando Pirates.

Reports in the media have suggested that Ndlovu is keen on following teammate Fortune Makaringe, who is thought to be on the verge on joining Milutin Sredojevic’s chargers.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has spoken in glowing terms in the media about Ndlovu and after concluding the purchase of Lebohang Maboe last season, it was thought that it was a matter of if and not when the midfielder moved to Chloorkop.

Kododia though revealed to Soccer Laduma that Ndlovu doesn’t want to move to Sundowns.

‘What I can say is that the player has made it clear he does not want to go to Sundowns, but I am waiting for him and his agent to come forward if there is any truth to this link with Pirates,’ said the Maritzburg boss.

‘We agreed a deal in principle with Sundowns last year, but we can no longer move ahead with it. The decision is now left to the player and his manager.’

Where the player ends up remains to be seen but for the moment it looks as though he may be heading to the Buccaneers.
